Whoever came up with the saying life is a b**ch must have not discovered Diani beach. Mombasa is quite a historical town rich in both culture and history. South of this Kenya's coastal town lies Diani, best known for its beautiful sparkling white sandy beaches with the magnificent Indian Ocean backdrop and since the introduction of direct flights, thanks to Air Kenya, South coast's haven of unique sights is just an enjoyable 45 minutes flight away from Nairobi.

The seamless stretch of white beach and tropical forests invites travelers to explore and experience adventures of a lifetime in a range of first class resorts and I have rounded up for you five of my favorite hotels in Diani beach Kenya.

Jacaranda Indian Ocean Beach Resort

A pleasantly whimsical journey back in time. That's the feeling you get at Jacaranda Indian Ocean Beach Resort. Right from the onset, you are greeted by a rich sense of an underlying Swahili theme. From the architecture, the decor like the chandelier acquired from a Sultan's ship dangling in the reception plus the fact that the resort stands on the site of a 16th Century Kongo mosque, everything re vibrates the lavish lifestyle of former rulers of the coast.

The resort's 100 rooms are not left out when it comes to the touch of charm so be it a sea view room overlooking the blue Indian Ocean waters, a garden room nestled within the well maintained lush gardens of indigenous trees and bushes or a beach front room right at the beach you can be sure to fall asleep to a stunning serenade of the rhythmic sound of water waves making it a perfect choice of stay for holidaymakers looking for some sun, sand and fun.

Undoubtedly a beautiful first class resort, Swahili Beach fills you with an aura of breathtaking air of sophistication from the moment you walk in. The stunning architecture is a fusion of African, Indian, Arabian and Zanzibar influences, a perfect combination of traditional culture and contemporary style.

A refreshing cocktail by the cascading pool bar is a perfect idea for a poolside retreat and the best recipe to cool down in the heat.

The resort's high quality accommodation with luxury connotations by the Swahili furniture and decor offering exquisite views of the outdoors across the gardens, cascading pools and the Indian ocean.
